Got a swim in tonight... with the kids. So, sure, there weren't any actual laps involved, but I did practice my breathing and stroke -- which I really need to do. Tomorrow, the plan is to run.
I didn't know about the conditioner under the swim cap thing....what does that do? I'll start using Wendy's swimming guide (in our training packet), but I might need the next level for running and biking.... ??? After all, one of the races I registered for said I was an "Athena" since I'm over 150 lbs!!!! HA HA
If you wet your hair and put conditioner on it before putting it under your swim cap, it helps protect your hair from getting all straw-like and discolored from the chlorine. Or at least that's what the woman who cut/colored my hair last told me. ("Oh... are you swimming?" she asked when assessing my hair...) Does it work? I don't know. But I do it. :)
I think we're ready! To slosh through our shoes and get muddy-butt from the bike in the rain!! :) Oh well, don't tell anyone but if we medal, there are only FIVE women in our age bracket.... HA HA! We BETTER MEDAL!!! No pressure Kate!!! :)
