Hardcore awesome.

The boys and I are spending the night at Grandma Wanda's house. I am taking home some of the 50+ year old movie theater seats with me. I aquired them thru my mother as she knew the owner of the Aurora Tacora Theater. These seats rock. No place for them in the house but so damn cool I have to have them. Jen is spending the night with her girlfriends in Duluth (Dahlut for my Range friends). - Jay

Labor Day Weekend Part 2

Douglas trail (biking trail). We also went to Hu Hot for lunch and cleared the garden. We discovered a hitching post. You don't see a whole lot of those so I took a picture. Tomorrow - the first day of school! Jen is really proud that we finished school shopping all in one store - we (Jen) rocks.

Labor Day Weekend Part 1

Part one starts with the farmer's market and pickling hot chili peppers. I am getting the hang of this - in hope to have some killer stuff during the lean winter. Bergen and I (Jay) then set off on a short fishing trip. We could have filled the live well with Freshwater drum (sheep's head). Bergen caught his very first smallmouth bass. Christian spent the whole day at a friends house. As Bergen and I were leaving we hooked the big one that got away (see pic of Bergen fighting the fish). Bergen's arms got tired and I fought the second half of a 4 minute battle. We got a clear look at a approx 30lb carp as it broke off at the boat. The neighbor boats were cheering us on the whole time! Lot's of fun. We saluted our carp with rootbeers and cheese pizza on the way home.
