Blistering hot day in Winona as the boys and I tour replicas of the Nina and Pinta. You can see the pain in their faces as they pose for PICs. We thought the ships amazingly small. We also toured the Marine museum followed by a packed picnic lunch in the car (A/C). Did I mention it was hot? - Jay

Today's appointment.

Some healing has taken place but by the look of the giant crack it will be a 3-6 month process (if all goes well). Another 6 weeks with the boot... that I can ween off. After that, still the chance of screws. Lovely. - Jay

Cabin and the 4th of July

Fun was had by all. We included another trip to Maple Lake to enjoy the 4th with the Haugen family and friends. I bet we have made that trip at least 10 out of the 14 years of our marriage.

Cards, board games and books took up most of the cabin time with Grandma Wanda (Jen was in Vermont). Wicked wind canceled any fishing. I did have a good stint under the tractor fixing a thrown belt.

The Wadena tornado (same storm system) did take down a couple trees on our property. Nothing major. We toured the damage on the ride home. There were a lot of school buses rolled from square to round from the twister. Awesome power.

Another turkey sighting one mile north of the cabin on CR2. We have not had a gobbler call back when we squak on ouyr property - as of yet.

I left my favorite fishing rod at the cabin and second favorite at Maple Lake... sucks as I am taking the boys to a fishing tournament in 2 weeks... another Fleet Farm trip for me.

The pics include cabin life, ice cream, swinging for the trees at Itasca and a wilderness CAM shot of deer running by. The time stamps to the PICs are incorrect.
